What is a deserving organization that I can donate a power wheelchair to and also get a tax write off?
I have an Invacare power wheelchair in very good condition with less than a year of use. I basically inherited it from my really good friend who passed away but I need to get the thing out of my house as it takes up too much space and is basically kind of depressing. My financial situation is not the best so I definitely want to get that tax write off it at all possible. I tried selling it on Craigslist but I have the feeling that most of the people who get these things have it paid for through insurance and thus the difficulty of selling it as a private individual.
So I would like to find a reputable charity that will give it to someone who deserves it.. And get that much needed tax write off.

check your phone book or call 211 (United Way help info line) for contact info for nearest disability access center type place. They will probably be glad to have donation and give receipt. If by any chance you happen to be anywhere near NE GA our ministry is looking for a power chair for someone in need and does provide receipt for all in kind donations.
