A Nichrome wire 76 cm long and 0.25 mm in diameter is connected to a 1.5 volt flashlight battery. The electric field inside this wire is 1.974 V/m. The Nichrome wire is replaced by a wire of the same length and diameter, but with electron mobility 4 times as large as that of Nichrome. Now what is the electric field inside the wire?
Biot-Savart relates magnetic field to current. Electric field E = V/L = 1.5/0.76 = 1.974 V/m whatever the composition of the wire.
