Plumbing - What's the difference between a pressure bypass valve and a pressure relief valve?
This one's for serious plumbers!
Both are 2-port devices. relief valves seem to be half the price. Both seem to offer to let water through if the differential pressure reaches a certain level.

It sounds like a relief valve empties to an outflow that has no back pressure.
My next task is to find a pressure bypass valve, preferably adjustable around 0.5-3 bar, in-and-out in line, and tiny. 16mm pipe would be ideal.
pressure relief valve fits to the boiler so if the pressure gets too high it opens and lets some water out to out side.A bypass fits Between the flow and return pipes to the rads and if all the rads valves shut off it opens and lets water still run through the boiler, two very didifferentalves so do not use one for the other job
