Soreness in shin and calf area?
I've always had problems with the muscles on the outsides of my calf/shin area tightening up when I run, is there anything I can do to help this?
I'm running in Nike Air Max 180 with arch supports, on fairly level concrete, a couple miles each run. I'm twenty years old, and about 5'9", 190lbs.
I know whenever I get pain there, I make sure to eat or drink items with lots of potassium. Orange juice or bananas are really popular choices. My boyfriend gets the same thing when he plays basketball and I made him start drinking orange juice before and after. He says it has helped him. I'm not a medical professional and I'm not guaranteeing this solution will work for you, but potassium is known for help with muscle cramps and I have received only positive feedback from this advice in the past.
