Do you agree that anti-trust laws should be abolished?
Ron Paul does. Paul has stated that he believes the government has no business getting involved in the right to contract. This would mean Paul supports a corporation's right to fix prices and monopolize markets; that workers need no assistance from government when bargaining for wages or benefits; that labor laws be struck off the books as they are an inference in said right to contract; that all health and safety laws be done away with as to allow a person the right to contract away his health and safety it it suits him or her.
Are these the kind of freedoms you really want? If so, Ron Paul will give them to you and plenty more.
The problem is, people are sheep.
Yes, that's insulting -- but sadly, it's also true. The govt steps in to protect people because far too often, people are unwilling to take the steps necessary to protect themselves.
This is one of the few areas that Ron Paul's platform actually does overlap the Libertarian platform -- but while it's a great idea in theory, it's another case where a lot of people would get hurt if they were given the freedom that this model entails.
